The wonderful thing about triathlon is that whether its your first or thirtieth; there is always something to learn and improve on. Not all of us have the time or funds to travel abroad to train....
I cannot recommend John at Silent Wolf highly enough. His enthusiasm, sense of humour and desire to help you reach your goals coupled with his knowledge and skills means you get results!- Sarah
The best thing about working with a coach like John is that it makes you accountable to someone else and it forces you to get out and do the training even when you don't really want to! Likewise, Paul Hawkins led some brilliant training sessions - I only managed to attend a couple of run and swim sessions but they were really focused, tough and fun. I would recommend Silent Wolf to help you achieve your goals.- Steve Wheatley - IRONMAN 70.3 Edinburgh
The weekend was great, and my understanding of the whole thing was vastly improved. I then joined the pack for numerous sessions in the lead up to the event and the confidence I gained through John and Paul's knowledge and enthusiasm was priceless. The helped believe me believe in my ability and ultimately achieve a time way better than I thought possible.- Andy Craig - IRONMAN 70.3 Edinburgh
John is just the best PT ever! Hugely motivating, inspiring and great fun to be with. He taught me so many simple exercises that don’t need any fancy equipment which I can do at home or in the garden when the sun shines. John and I meet once a week and do our session outside down at the beach. I love it. Having John has made a huge improvement to my overall fitness and I have no hesitation recommending John to anyone who is considering a personal trainer.- Gill
I cannot recommend Silent Wolf highly enough, I feel very lucky to have won this competition and it has allowed to me see that having a personal trainer and nutritionist isn’t just for top athletes aiming for sub 2 hour half marathons and triathletes covering multiple disciplines. If you want to aim for that then great! But if like me, you just want to focus on yourself for a change, regain the joy of exercising outside and loose the modern “diet” mentality, speak to John and Grace.- Jackie
The advice, support and words of wisdom I received from Silent Wolf were invaluable to me when training for my first triathlon; a sport that is very daunting for beginners. My strengths and weaknesses were broken down and we came up with a plan to how to approach each element, which was very helpful and gave me confidence on race day.- Cheryl
Silent wolf are an excellent fitness team. John coached me to a six minute PB in the Berlin half marathon and got me through the rigours of my first marathon. John is easy to work with and is good company. His training plans are focused and well organised and he makes it easier to prepare for and succeed at big events. He cares about what he is doing and has good technical knowledge. Grace is a very good nutritionist. She has a realistic common sense approach avoiding extreme or fad diets. Grace knows how to introduce small but important changes and doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel with a crazy diet. As an athlete herself she knows what works. Again her technical knowledge is sound and she gave me plenty of encouragement to get into shape.- Niall
I can highly recommend John Macleod as an excellent personal trainer and running coach for all levels of fitness.- Lisa
The psychological boost and mental lessons were as valuable, if not more important, than the technical stuff. The relaxed 'one to one' motivational chat played back in my head leading up to the event and kept me strong and focused. The lessons I learnt from the 'coping' strategy were crucial. All in all I would recommend the course to anyone, especially the fittest, that may not have tested their mental strength as much as their body strength.- Suzanne Mclean
